LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Tuesday granted bail to Gullu Butt, who stands accused of vandalising several vehicles during clashes in Model Town on June 17. The counsel for Gullu Butt told the court that his offence was bailable. He said that the police had wrongly added the provisions of Anti-Terrorism Law in the first information report against Butt. He said that the vehicles vandalised by Butt did not belong to any of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek workers. The lawyer said that his client did not have a criminal history and he should, therefore, be released on bail. An investigating officer from Faisal Town police said the owners of cars Gullu Butt had smashed, had not pursued their complaints. At this, the Lahore High Court then granted bail to Gullu Butt against two surety bonds of Rs200,000.
