‘Murderer’ arrested

ISLAMABAD:

The Ramna police on Tuesday arrested a man for killing wife in Sector G-10/2.

On Monday, the deceased, identified as Saira Abro, was brought to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in critical condition where she died.

She was shot in her belly, said an official.  The police took Awais, the husband of the deceased, into custody on the complaint of Saira’s father. The incident took place over a family issue, said the official.

The deceased’s husband told the police during investigation that his wife shot herself dead. They were quarrelling over a domestic issue when Saira went towards the kitchen and shot herself, the official quoted Awais as saying.

Further investigation is under way.
