Violated: Woman accuses brothers-in-law of rape

HARIPUR:

Two men have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping their sister-in-law, said Khalabat Township police on Tuesday.

Quoting the victim, 26-year-old Marina Bibi*, SHO Raja Mehboob said she married Tufail, a resident of Khalabat Township, two years ago.

According to Marina, her husband worked abroad. In Tufail’s absence, his brothers Zakim and Musa had repeatedly attempted to sexually harass her, but she was saved because their parents were home.

However, a couple of days ago, Marina’s father and mother-in-law went to attend a wedding and she was alone at home when Zakim and Musa forcibly entered her room. They then allegedly proceeded to rape her one after the other.

SHO Mehboob said that upon receiving Marina’s complaint, police registered a criminal case against the two men who were subsequently arrested.

According to the investigation officer, Marina’s medical examination proved that she had been raped.
