Navy upset WAPDA in football league

PAF draw, move up to eighth in the table.

KARACHI:
Pakistan Navy caused an upset in the Pakistan Premier League after beating leaders Wapda 1-0 while Pakistan Air Force (Paf) drew against Young Blood Football Club (FC) 2-2.

Navy took advantage of a below-par Wapda and scored the opener in the ninth minute. Wapda missed three chances before the interval and continued their lacklustre approach in the second half to hand Navy the narrow win. Despite the loss, Wapda still remain top of the league with 50 points.


Arif Nawaz gave Paf the lead in the 18th minute before Muhammad Zeeshan scored two minutes later. Zain Khalid hit back for Young Blood FC as Asim Mansoor equalised in the 52nd minute. The draw meant Paf move to eighth while Young Blood FC are left reeling at 14th.
