Holding forth: Shahbaz accuses Imran of duplicity
Sharif said that he had been deeply saddened by the Model Town violence.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Friday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan was willing to negotiate with Taliban who had killed 40,000 Pakistanis but was not willing to hold talks with a democratically elected government.
He was speaking to the Pakistan Television (PTV). Sharif said this showed Khan’s double standards.
Sharif said that he had been deeply saddened by the Model Town violence. He said that senior police officials had been removed and a judicial tribunal had been formed to look into the incident. He said that some politicians were guilty of inciting violence. Sharif said they wanted to hinder national development and spread anarchy. He said that his Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would leave no stone unturned to protect the life and honour of the public. Sharif said that Khan had congratulated him on winning the general elections but was now holding a long march alleging electoral rigging.
