Prediction: Telecom revenues to surge
These revenues are also expected to touch the Rs1,200-billion mark by 2025

The current telecom sector revenues of around Rs580 billion are expected to increase to Rs800 billion in the next five years. These revenues are also expected to touch the Rs1,200-billion mark by 2025 dominated by contribution through mobile broadband. As estimated by consultants working with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, the auction of 3G/4G spectrum has already contributed to the national exchequer and national economy as the government has achieved Rs122 billion (including tax) against the budgetary target of Rs120 billion through this auction.
