All aboard: PTI’s FATA chapter gears up
Over 100,000 tribesmen to join the party’s Azadi March to Islamabad
PESHAWAR:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Fata chapter on Thursday announced that over 100,000 tribesmen would join the party’s Azadi March to Islamabad.
The announcement was made by Dr Basheer Khan, the organiser for PTI’s North Waziristan chapter, while addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club.
Basheer Khan said internally displaced people from North Waziristan would participate, adding every political party used tribesmen for their own interests and the people of Fata remained deprived of basic rights as a result.
He warned that if the police was found creating hurdles for the demonstrators, PTI workers would respond accordingly and the federal government would be responsible for the consequences.
PTI’s Orakzai Agency President Ateequr Rahman and General Secretary Orakzai Tajbar Khan Mohmand were among those present at the news conference.
