Independence day: Health ministry to organise special programmes

All organisations under the ministry have chalked out special programmes and activities to mark the Independence Day.

ISLAMABAD:


The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination (NHSRC) has decided to celebrate the month of August under the theme of ‘A Healthy Pakistan is a Strong Pakistan’, stated a press release issued on Wednesday.


All organisations under the ministry have chalked out special programmes and activities to mark the Independence Day celebrations. This includes hoisting of the Pakistani flag at National Institute of Health (NIH), Pakistan Medical Research Council and Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan throughout the month. Sports activities and various tableaus are also planned as part of the celebrations.


Health-related seminars will also be organsied at the Health Services Academy and advocacy banners will be displayed on the importance of getting children vaccinated at the Expanded Programme on Immunisation building.


A Sehatmand Pakistan Walk will also be organised on August 12 at the Prime Minister’s National Health Complex followed by a media talk by NHSRC Minister Saira Afzal Tarar. Prominent parliamentarians, doctors, nurses and employees of NIH will participate in the walk.
