Threat Averted: Bomb defused near telephone exchange
Several cell phone installations have been destroyed in the area since 2008-09 in the ongoing militancy.
SHABQADAR:
A bomb weighing six kilogrammes was defused near a PTCL telephone exchange on main Munda-Shabqadar Road, Matta on Wednesday morning. Police official Haider Khan said they were informed about a suspicious bag following which police and bomb disposal unit personnel rushed to the site and defused the explosive device. Last week, a 10-kg bomb was defused near Shabqadar Telephone Exchange and police station, while a cell tower’s machinery was set ablaze two weeks ago. Several cell phone installations have been destroyed in the area since 2008-09 in the ongoing militancy.
