Two Balochistan Constabulary officials killed, eight injured in Mastung attack

No group claimed responsibility for the attack as yet

QUETTA: Two Balochistan Constabulary personnel were killed and eight others were wounded in a deadly attack at their check post in Mastung, about 45 kilometers off Quetta, in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to a senior official of Balochistan Levies, a group of armed men bombed a vehicle of the Balochistan Constabulary and then opened fire on them.

A team of Balochistan Levies reached the site soon after hearing about the attack and transported the dead and injured to a Quetta hospital.

A heavy contingent of security forces and Levies personnel also mounted a manhunt at the site.

The victims were identified as ASI Mohim Khan and Sub-Inspector Khalil Ahmed.

No group had claimed responsibility for the attack till the filing of the report.
