Hamza Shahbaz censures Imran for missing NA session
PML-N leader lashes out at politicians for playing 'dharna politics'

Taking a potshot at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for missing today's parliamentary session as he prepares for his Azadi March against the government, Hamza Shahbaz on Tuesday said Imran should have sat with his fellow parliamentarians to discuss the plight of thousands of displaced Pakistanis.
The central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was speaking outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, where he also invited Imran to discuss his grievances with the government inside the parliament.
Implicitly criticising Imran and Tahirul Qadri for playing "dharna politics", Hamza questioned if problems that should be dealt with inside the parliament, could be fixed on streets.
"What is so terrible about the country that people feel they have to resort to dharnas to have their demands addressed," he asked.
Hamza, son of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, said that it had only been one year since the current PML-N government came into power. "Don’t ask for five years worth of development in just one year," he stated.
The PML-N leader said "the country is in a state of war and god forbid, there can be a reaction to this in the coming days," adding that the country needs to be prepared in case the fighting makes its way to the streets of Pakistan.
He stated that sensitive installations in the country such as the airport need to be protected and it is for this reason that Article 245 was imposed.
Hamza further said that once the country was peaceful again, the armed forces would leave the streets and go back in their barracks.
