Infant ‘swapped’: Committee examines birth record

Prof Anjum Habib Vohra says staff on duty on the day had been transferred.

LAHORE:
The committee set up to investigate the alleged swapping of a newborn in Lahore General Hospital’s (LHG) labour room met on Monday under its chairman Prof Farrukh Zaman. The committee examined the record of all births on August 2 and recorded statements of doctors, nurses and paramedics who were on duty on the day. It also recorded the complainant’s version. LGH Medical Superintendent Pervez Imtiaz told the meeting reports of DNA tests of the baby, her mother and father would help the investigation. Prof Anjum Habib Vohra said the staff on duty on the day had been transferred.
