Inclement weather: Man and son die after falling off bridge

SHANGLA: A man and his son died and his daughter was injured when they fell from a wooden bridge in Damori area of Shangla on Saturday morning. Karora police SHO Itbar Khan said Noor Nawab, 30, was returning to his house in Karshit village from Damori Bazaar along with his son Ikram, 11, and daughter Mahal, 3, after buying groceries. They were crossing a wooden bridge over a stream known as Khan Khawar when they fell off due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. Khan said the bodies of the father and son were recovered while Mahal was rushed to DHQ Hospital, Alpuri where she was said to be in critical condition. The police official urged people to avoid using wooden bridges during bad weather. “The structures swing like a pendulum due to heavy wind so people should not use them.”
