Hamilton believes fortunes are changing

Mercedes driver close to overtaking teammate Rosberg in F1 standings.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton believes his luck is taking a turn after the last two races saw him fightback to close the gap between teammate and current championship leader Nico Rosberg, according to ESPN.

Brake failure at the German Grand Prix and fuel leakage during qualifying in Hungary saw the Briton start out of position. Despite firing up his engine from the pit lane and taking a spin at the second corner at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Hamilton still managed to take a podium ahead of Rosberg and is now just 11 points behind.

“If ever I’ve had good luck this year, it was at the last race in Budapest — keeping me from damaging my car on the wall during that first lap,” he told the Mercedes website.

“Hopefully that’s a sign that my fortunes are changing. To have taken two podiums from two different weekends before the break has been really satisfying.”
