PESHAWAR: A passer-by was injured when unidentified gunmen tried to kidnap a poultry dealer from Sheikhan village on Friday. “They were trying to kidnap a poultry dealer, Wakeel, who managed to escape before the kidnappers could overpower him,” a local elder told The Express Tribune. “The kidnappers opened fire in the crowded market leaving a passerby, Mukthiar, seriously injured.” The man said the incident caused panic among residents without inviting much attention from the police. “The police do not care about the presence of these armed men who openly wander around in broad day light,” he added.
