Three of a family gunned down in Panjgur district
Motive for the attack yet to be ascertained
QUETTA:
Three members of a family, including a woman, were gunned down in Balochistan’s Panjgur district on Friday.
An official of the Balochistan Levies said armed men barged into the house of Arz Mohammed in the Prom area and opened fire on the family members present inside.
Noor Mohammed, Per Dost and a woman sustained bullet wounds and died on the spot. Balochistan Levies personnel reached the crime scene and shifted the bodies to a state-run hospital for an autopsy, after which they were handed over to the heirs for burial.
The motive behind the killings could not be known immediately, and the incident triggered fear in the area, resulting in shops and markets closing down.
“Investigators are recording statements, and will trace the culprits soon,” a Levies official said.
Relatives of the family could not be reached despite frequent attempts.
