PM Nawaz pays tribute to soldiers and IDPs as nation celebrates Eidul Fitr

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said August 14 celebrations will pass by smoothly in an apparent reference to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's long march scheduled for the same day, Express News reported on Tuesday.
While talking to journalists in Jeddah, the premier said that Independence Day ceremonies will be held during the night of August 13 and the national flag will be hoisted on the morning of August 14.
Further, Nawaz said that a few thousand people cannot derail democracy established in the country by millions of people and that there is no room for slogans and sit-ins in the country.
Nawaz added that a revolution will only come through democracy.
Earlier, as the nation celebrated Eidul Fitr with religious fervour, the prime minister paid tribute to the Pakistan Army soldiers fighting against terrorists in North Waziristan and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Big Eid congregations were held across the country amid tight security. Army Chief General Raheel Sharif also arrived in North Waziristan to celebrate Eid with his soldiers.
In his Eid message, President Mamnoon Hussain urged the nation to share the joys of Eid with the underprivileged sections of society and the IDPs. His wife, Begum Mehmooda, also called upon the women of the country to celebrate Eid with simplicity and express solidarity with the displaced families.
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi extended warm greetings to the parliamentarians and fellow countrymen.
