IDPs are our heroes and stars, says Baloch
Cash assistance of Rs400,000 will be given to those whose houses have been destroyed, said Baloch.

The prime minister’s focal person for internally displaced persons (IDPs) from North Waziristan Agency, where a massive military operation codenamed Zarb-e-Azb is on-going, has said that the entire nation highly values the sacrifices of the displaced tribesmen.
“The displaced persons are our heroes and stars and facing this time of trial for peace and comfort of the entire nation,” Abdul Qadir Baloch, who is also the minister for States and Frontier Regions (Safron), said while addressing the IDPs at Baka Khel relief camp in Bannu on Monday.
He said the government held the tribal culture in high esteem and added that a jirga’s decision with regard to the return of IDPs would be given due consideration to resettle the displaced populace in their area in a respectable way.
“A survey of houses will be carried out in North Waziristan. Cash assistance of Rs400,000 will be given to those whose houses have been destroyed while Rs200,000 to those whose houses were damaged,” Qadir Baloch said.
He said an additional Rs50,000 would be given to each displaced family on their return to their areas. He held out an assurance that all the IDPs will be registered and given financial assistance in cash and ration.
Qadir Baloch said the federal government would not rest until all the IDPs were rehabilitated. He added that temporary schools would also be established for the displaced children in Bannu so that they could continue their education.
On the occasion, Eid gifts were distributed amongst the displaced people.
