Keeping guard: Security arrangements finalized

FAISALABAD: City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Tajik on Sunday approved security and administrative arrangements for Eid holidays. Tajik said that 2,090 policemen had been deployed to maintain law and order on Eid. He said duties would commence with the sighting of the new moon. Tajik said that police had established help centres on Satiana Road and Anarkali Bazaar in the event of any untoward incident. The CPO said that more than 70 personnel would patrol the Clock Tower Chowk, Satiana Road and Anarkali Bazaar. Tajik said that over a hundred policemen in plain clothes had been tasked with monitoring security in public and recreational spots. He said, “70 vehicles would patrol thoroughfares and sensitive locations across the city in three shifts while 15 teams from the Elite Force have been reserved as a quick response team.”
