ISLAMABAD: World Hepatitis Day will be observed on Monday under the theme of Think Again to raise awareness about the disease and to consider viral hepatitis a silent killer. This year will be the 7th annual World Hepatitis Day, taking place on July 28, on the same date as the birthday of Nobel laureate Professor Blumberg who discovered Hepatitis B. World Hepatitis Day was established by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in its quest for a renewed commitment against a largely silent but persistent group of infectious diseases known as Hepatitis A,B, C, D, and E which had infected over 500 million people worldwide, with approximately a recorded death rate of one million persons annually.
