Ransacking police station: ‘I didn’t do it’

FAISALABAD: MPA Rana Shoaib Idrees on Sunday appeared before the police team investigating charges of rioting, attacking a police station, injuring police personnel, damaging public property and freeing two men from police custody on July 19 against the MPA. The MPA recorded his statement at Khurarianwala police station. He denied allegations the levelled against him. He said the police had wrongly detained two men from his area on charges of beating a sub inspector. He said the police had delayed registration of a case and set the guilty free. Khurarianwala Station House Officer Khalid Pervaiz contradicted the MPA’s statements, saying the police had CCTV footage of the MPA beating police officials and damaging police property.
