Security threats: Sindh govt bans pillion riding ahead of Eidul Fitr
Senior citizens, journalists, women and law enforcers are exempted from the ban.

Following security threats, the Sindh government have imposed a ban on pillion riding in Karachi till the midnight of August 1.
The ban came into effect on Sunday soon after the home department notification was passed. The ban has been imposed for security reasons. Senior citizens, journalists, women and personnel of the law enforcement agencies are exempted from the ban.
Meanwhile, the Sindh Police have also finalised their contingency plan to ensure security during Eidul Fitr holidays. According to sources, there are threats of potential terrorist attacks during the holidays, particularly in Karachi. Intelligence agencies have also warned of potential attacks. Besides Eid prayers, intelligence agencies have warned that terrorist attacks can take place at some public place or a government building.
As many as 15,000 law enforcers, including police and Rangers, will cover over 11,000 Eid prayer congregations. Following the warnings, the police and Rangers have been asked to make extraordinary arrangements for Eid congregations. Enhanced patrolling and snap checks will be carried out on all three days of Eidul Fitr.
