Eliminating danger: 40 suspects arrested in raids along Mohmand border

The detainees were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Over 40 suspects were rounded up by security forces early on Sunday morning during a search operation near the Mohmand Agency border with Charsadda.



Sro Kali police station official Wilayat Khan confirmed that security forces, along with the police, cordoned off the area from Shahbaz Khan Korona to Shno Ghundai, Michni, along the border villages between Mohmand and Charsadda.


The search operation, which continued till 10am, resulted in the arrest of 43 suspects, while Kalashnikovs, pistols and rifles were seized from their homes. The detainees were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.


Meanwhile, the police remained on red alert in Shabqadar, Charsadda, where the Frontier Constabulary was helping them maintain order in the main bazaar and other sensitive areas. Police said Shabqadar shares a border Mohmand Agency and there have been threats of attacks.
