FAISALABAD:

Three bodies were found from a house in Dastagir Colony on Saturday.

Police were alerted by neighbours after they noticed stench coming from the house of Manzoor Ahmad. The house had been locked from the outside. Gojra City SHO Aftab Siddiqui led a police team that entered the house after breaking down the door. Police took the bodies to the Gojra Government Hospital for autopsy.Muhammad Shafiq, a neighbour, told reporters that Ahmad had recently returned from Saudi Arabia, where he had spent most of his life. “Ahmad had two married daughters but no male children. He had adopted Imran, a nephew,” Shafiq said. He said Ahmad’s wife had died three years ago. Shafiq said Ahmad had no known enmity. Police said the victims had been shot dead. SHO Siddiqui said a case would be registered after the postmortem report became available.

Protest against police

Hundreds of people staged a protest demonstration against police on Saturday in Haroonabad for not arresting robbers. The demonstrators blocked the road in Qamarpura and chanted slogans against police. A fruit and vegetable market broker, Muhammad Afzal, was robbed of cash on July 20. Afzal lodged a complaint with city police, but the protesters said police had not arrested the robbers. SHO Akram Shah assured the protesters that action would be taken against the suspects. The demonstrators then dispersed.
