A life cut short: Two commit suicide

Official said Sajid Hussain, who was believed to be mentally unstable, locked himself in a room and killed himself.

NOWSHERA: A doctor appointed to the District Headquarters Hospital reportedly committed suicide by jumping into River Kabul in Nowshera while a clerk shot himself dead for unknown reasons on Friday in Swabi. Nowshera Deputy Commissioner Zakaullah said Dr Ijaz had just finished his shift in the wee hours of Friday morning when he proceeded to the ACL Bridge, from where he jumped into the river. Rescue workers later recovered the body after a search. The reason for the suicide could not be determined and an investigation is under way. Meanwhile, a clerk at Government Primary School in Khat Kalay, Swabi shot himself dead. A police official said Sajid Hussain, who was believed to be mentally unstable, locked himself in a room and killed himself.
