No improvement: Pakistan disappoint on day two

KARACHI:


Pakistan’s squad failed to display any improvement on the second day of the Commonwealth Games, with the country’s top female swimmer Kiran Khan finishing 25th out of 26 contenders in the women’s 100m backstroke heat swimming event on Friday.


Dubai-Based Lianna Swan finished 44th among 57 swimmers in the women’s 50m freestyle heat, while Kiran was 50th.

In the men’s event, Israr Hussain stood 31st out of 37 contenders in the 200m freestyle heat and Nisar Ahmed finished 34th.

Meanwhile, Zeeshan Farid failed to qualify for the 10m Air Rifle men’s final event and Mehwish Farhan was also unable to enter the 10m Air Pistol women’s final event.
