Not resting in peace: ‘My grandmother told me her grave was too crowded’

Petitioner Imran Javed told that one night he dreamt about his grandmother who complained about how narrow grave was.

An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday sought comments from Lytton Road station house officer in a petition filed by a man seeking case against three undertakers for constructing a grave over his grandmother’s grave.


Petitioner Imran Javed told the court that one night he dreamt about his grandmother who was complained about how narrow grave was.

He said he did not take the dream seriously.

He said a few days later he dreamt of his grandmother again who told him that he should visit her grave.


He said when he went, he saw that his grandmother’s grave had disappeared and a fresh grave had been built over it.

He said undertakers Khalid, Zubair and Arif of Miani Sharif graveyard had built the grave without his permission.

He said graves other people were intact but his grandmother’s grave was removed.

He said he approached Miani Sharif graveyard administration to complain but he was ignored.

He said when he tried to talk to the undertakers, they threatened him.

He said he also approached the police but they did not take him seriously.
