Lahore court dismisses Gullu Butt's bail plea
Court says there cannot be any facilitation for someone accused of vandalism.
LAHORE:
An anti-terrorism court in Lahore dismissed bail plea of Gullu Butt who is allegedly an active member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and police tout, Express News reported on Tuesday.
Butt was caught smashing cars during the clashes between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and the police outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat on June 17. He had smashed windscreens and windows of private vehicles with his club, while police officials looked on and the vandalism continued unabated.
The accused had filed the bail request after he was sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand on July 19.
The court, while rejecting the request, stated that there can’t be any facilitation for someone accused of vandalism.
