PESHAWAR:

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has announced the government will set up a complaint cell for internally displaced persons in Bannu, officials at Chief Minister House told The Express Tribune on Monday.

According to them, the chief minister’s complaint cell, which already exists in Peshawar, received numerous complaints about problems faced by displaced people. This compelled the chief minister to set up a temporary cell at Bannu, just for the IDPs.

“The complaint cell will deal with complaints of displaced persons only. The set-up is for the time being and will be wound up soon after the repatriation of IDPs,” said one official, requesting anonymity.

Meanwhile, an official notification issued on Monday stated that Zeenatullah, a volunteer, has been appointed in charge of the complaint cell at Bannu.

The complaint cell in Peshawar receives complaints on different departments and even people. A number of complaints have been received and redressed, with a majority of them pertaining to mismanagement in government departments.
