KARACHI:

The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and the Anti-Car Lifting Cell (AVCC) have recovered a 10-year-old boy from the captivity of kidnappers on Monday.

The abducted boy was kidnapped from Defence Housing Authority (DHA) when he was returning from a seminary.

Abdullah, a resident of Baloch Colony, was kidnapped on June 19 while he was returning after attending classes at a local seminary. Following his abduction, his family received a ransom call from the kidnappers, who asked them to pay through the Easy Paisa facility. The family initially paid the amount but, later, the kidnappers asked them to pay an additional Rs10 million. The family then approached the CPLC.

CPLC chief Ahmed Chinoy said that a AVCC and CPLC team utilised all the technical support and intelligence and conducted a raid in Shah Faisal Colony and recovered the abducted boy safely. An alleged kidnapper, Mehboob Ali, was also arrested.
