Welcome addition: Bahawalpur Zoo set to get 2 elephants
Bahawalpur Commissioner said that the Sri Lankan government had gifted two elephants to the Bahawalpur Zoo.

Bahawalpur Commissioner Captain (retd ) Javed Akbar said on Monday that the Sri Lankan government had gifted two elephants to the Bahawalpur Zoo. Akbar told reporters that the animals would soon arrive at the zoo. “We are taking steps to improve the condition of the Bahawalpur Zoo,” he said. He said the government wanted to develop the Lal Suhanra National Park and make it a tourist attraction. Referring to the Bahawalpur Solar Power Park, Akbar said Chinese and US companies were completing the project that would produce 100 megawatts of electricity.
