In limbo: Judges told not to delay verdicts

LAHORE: District and Sessions Judge Tariq Iftikhar Ahmad has warned judges of lower courts against adjourning cases after hearing arguments.  It had been reported that after hearing final arguments some judges tended to postpone pronouncement of judgments. Judge Ahmad said that the matter would be reported to Lahore High Court (LHC) and disciplinary proceedings would be started against any judicial official found guilty of delinquency. He said delay was a violation of the judges’ mandate and the rules and directives of the LHC.
