New programme: AIOU to offer master’s in TV production

ISLAMABAD:

The AIOU will introduce a new master’s degree programme in TV production from the Spring Semester 2015 for electronic media professionals. 

Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr Ali Asghar Chishti has approved the programme, which will feature practical as well as theoretical knowledge of the TV production.

The university will engage reputed professionals from the television industry to train the students.

Initially, 40 students will be enrolled in the master’s programme in Islamabad, which will later be expanded to other cities as well. The university will also arrange internship opportunities for the students at various media houses.

The programme will be offered to the graduate-level students. However, working journalists and mass communication degree holders will be preferred for admission into the course. Moreover, admissions for all AIOU programmes are starting from August 1.
