Athletic kids a high priority for Beckham

David and Victoria are both vigilant about their children’s involvement in sports activities.

Soccer star David Beckham, 39, learned discipline on the field and the father-of-four wants to instill the same discipline in his kids. He revealed that his three sons — Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 11, and Cruz, 9 — do play sports-themed video games, but their screen time is strictly monitored by him and his wife, reports People magazine.

“We put a time limit on it. You have to,” said Beckham at Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards, where he received the first-ever Legend Award. “No more than an hour. I know that sounds pretty harsh, but I want my boys to be outside playing.”

Beckham and his wife Victoria are both vigilant about their children’s involvement in sports activities, which is a high priority for the much-appreciated professional athlete.

“It’s so important to me that they’re involved in sports — for discipline and health,” said Beckham, who singled out each of his three sons’ strong points. “[Brooklyn] is pretty skillful. My middle one, Romeo, is the quick one; he’s super-fast. The small one, [Cruz], is the tough one, of course — being the smallest boy.”

As far as television is concerned, the boys enjoy animated films, including Madagascar and Planes and his daughter Harper is a huge fan of Frozen. “She just had her third birthday party [on July 10] and it was Frozen-themed,” he shared. “My little girl is the biggest Frozen fan ever.”
