TV talk: Supernatural to do a musical episode

Show runner Jeremy Carver revealed that the show’s 200th episode will be 'musical-ish'.

The tenth season of Supernatural is hitting off in a rather melodious way. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki may be seen singing on the CW hit.

Show runner Jeremy Carver revealed that the show’s 200th episode will be “musical-ish”, something that the long-running series has never done before, reported E! Online. “I think it’ll be one of the most amusing and engaging episodes we’ve done in a while. I think we can safely call this a meta-episode,” said Carver.

“We’re going pretty meta. I would just describe it as a love letter to our fans and there will be songs.” Carver did not reveal whether Jensen and Jared will be singing or not. When asked whether there will be any dancing, he replied saying, “Potentially.” He further revealed that there will be more than one song and there will be both original songs and covers “It’s just going to be real fun and it’s a real celebration of the show and particularly the fans of the show,” he said.

Supernatural isn’t the first series to be doing this. Previously,Grey’s Anatomy also had one such episode and it was subjected to mixed reviews. Other series to do musical episodes include Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother and Fringe. The most famous musical episode would be that of Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Once More With Feeling.

Supernatural’s tenth season will premiere on October 7.
