Distance learning: AIOU fails to appoint tutors for spring semester
Last date for submission of first assignment was July 15.
LAHORE:
The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has not appointed tutors for hundreds of students, enrolled in the 2014 spring semester. The last date for submitting the first assignment was July 15.
The applications of hundreds of students for allocation of tutors are still pending.
“The administration has not appointed tutors for hundreds of students from matriculation to graduation. The students have to submit their assignments in order to be eligible to sit in the exams. The last date for the submission has passed and the names of the tutors are yet to be uploaded on the university’s website. This may cost students a full semester,” an official at AIOU said, requesting anonymity.
“The university should extend the last date for the submission of the assignments,” an affected student said.
AIOU Regional Director Rasool Baksh Behram refused to comment on the issue.
