Earlier, Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed had distanced himself from the ministry's bifurcation plan. Health Secretary Iqbal Hussain Durrani, however, had said that it will prove to be beneficial for the people.
Zardari, taking notice of the dispute on Friday night, tasked Dr Asim Hussain, the former advisor to the prime minister on petroleum and natural resources, to resolve the matter.
Dr Hussain has reportedly contacted both members of the health ministry, and attempted to make them meet.
It is expected that both the members would meet in the next few days, and the issue would be resolved, according to Express News correspondent Tufail Ahmed.

@Saleem: Nothing wrong with seeking power. Without power, you are just a dwarf which is under the feet of everybody. Without power, seats don't matter. PPP has clear majority and for any development in Karachi, MQM has no choice but to eventually join the govt. Its the way the govt is here.
The main essence of the story is missing out from this report. Mr. Durrani (Health Secretary) is the son-in-law of Mr. Qaim Ali Shah (Chief Minister). It also goes out to explain the importance of the issue that the former President of Pakistan & the Chairperson of PPP Mr. Asif Ali Zardari had to intervene in the matter.
@mrs ahmed: @Arzoo:
After all these years you should have learnt that MQM is more power hungry than any other party in Pakistan. Before jumping from roof, just check how many "days" it sits in opposition before joining ruling party.
Federal Govt has approved big funds for Health area in Sindh and thats why PPP corrupt-to-the-core politicians are now lobbying to divide the ministry so they can plunder the funds.
So the Health Minister has no power to run the Ministry assigned to him, in other words. Health Minister is an elected member of Assembly and thus accountable to the people for his performance. Health Secretary is a civil servant accountable to the Health Minister. Is there any logic in this narrative that Zardari is going to mediate between these two??? I do realize that we are operating under a Wadera feudal system but we are also attempting to transform ourselves into a democratic setup operated under rule of law. MQM should have never joined this setup where they do not have the necessary power to operate. It is a gross disservice to the people of Karachi for their representative party to function in a powerless setup. Forget about rural Sindh; the people there will have to liberate themselves from their waderas in order to live in the 21st century.
