Information hero: Senior journalist undergoes angioplasty

This year, he was listed among “100 Information Heroes” by the prestigious Reporters Without Borders.

ISLAMABAD:
Veteran journalist M. Ziauddin underwent angioplasty at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Friday, hospital sources told The Express Tribune.  Renowned cardiac surgeon Prof Shahid Malik conducted the procedure. “He is stable but will remain at the hospital until Saturday,” said a cardiologist. Ziauddin felt pain in his chest in the morning and was admitted to the hospital. He had recently resigned from his position as executive editor of The Express Tribune. His career in journalism has spanned over five decades. This year, he was listed among “100 Information Heroes” by the prestigious Reporters Without Borders.
