Missing person: Court orders recovery of man detained by Rangers
IG, DG Rangers to file comments by July 25.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday ordered the police to recover a rickshaw driver allegedly taken into unlawful custody by the Rangers on June 26.
The bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, also called for comments from the police and Rangers provincial chiefs and their subordinates in this regard by July 25.
The alleged detainee’s father, Noor Muhammad, has taken the law enforcers to the court over his son’s illegal detention and subsequent demands for bribe by the officials for his release.
The petitioner said that his son, Salahuddin, a rickshaw driver, had left home for the CNG station within the limits of the Mochko police station on June 26, when the Rangers took him away.
Later, he alleged, that he received a call from a man, who identified himself as Rangers official Mansoor and asked for Rs 0.4 million to release of Salahuddin. The father informed the two-judges that another person called Sharif Mam who is said to be an informer of the Rangers, also made similar demands.
Noor Muhammad informed the court that he did not have money to fulfill these demands to secure his son’s freedom. He pleaded to the court to order the heads of law enforcement agencies to release the detainee. The bench issued notices to the IG, DG Rangers chiefs and their subordinates, nominated as respondent in the petition, to file their comments by July 25.
