A small cooking oil manufacturing unit was sealed by the police in Nawansher on Friday for allegedly operating in filthy conditions in violation of hygiene laws. Led by Assistant Commissioner Osama Ahmed Wariach, police raided the premises on a tip-off and found that the owners of the unit were selling the oil in unbranded tins and canisters. Officials said the equipment used to manufacture the oil and the remains of a buffalo were also seized. They added that a considerable quantity of oil was ready to be sold the next morning. The suspects were identified as Amir, Muhammad Bashir and Irshad Muhammad and a criminal case was registered against them.
