KP govt approves Rs11m for renovation projects

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa govt to go ahead with development projects despite earlier suspension for flood rehabilitation.

PESHAWAR:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government on Sunday approved Rs11 million for the renovation of government buildings, including the chief minister’s house, in the province.

The funds have been approved despite an earlier announcement by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government of a freeze on development projects to divert funds for the rehabilitation of flood victims.

The government had previously stated that ongoing development projects would continue, but it would not take up any new ones. However, the information minister has now said that all suspended projects will resume and new projects will be initiated as the provincial government deems fit.
