Tankers impounded: FIA busts oil theft racket
Owners of carriages confess to their crime; Rs34.196m recovered.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore has taken into custody nine empty tankers of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) during a raid. The FIA’s Corporate Crime Circle (CCC) team, headed by Assistant Director Asif Ali Mian, conducted the raid.
The recovery of tankers establishes that owners of carriage companies have been misappropriating government oil, said Director FIA Punjab Dr Usman Anwar.
The owners of the carriage companies confessed their guilt and a recovery of Rs34.196 million (3, 41, 96,078) has been deposited in the account of the PSO, Director FIA further stated.
