Small justice: Man accused of killing nieces, nephew arrested
Suspect said that he had originally wanted to kill only his sister-in-law.
GUJRANWALA:
Police on Wednesday arrested a man accused of killing his two nieces and a nephew.
A Sadiqabad investigation SSP told newsmen at a press conference that Muhammad Ramazan, a daily wage worker, had lived with his brothers in village Rajah in Kamoke.
He said the man divorced his wife seven years ago.
He said one of his brothers, Muhammad Akbar, 42, worked in Rawalpindi and visited his family on the weekends. He said Akbar had five children.
He said Akbar and Ramazan argued on Sunday morning about Ramazan’s finances. The spokesman said after Akbar left for Rawalpindi, Ramazan drugged Akbar’s five-year-old son Tayyab, seven-year-old daughter Iman Fatima and four-year-old daughter Mehak.
He said he then tied their hands, feet and neck with electric wires and electrocuted them
He also drugged Akbar’s wife Sakina and 10-year-old Munaza and four-year-old Hassan before he fled. Sakina, Munazza and Hassan were taken to Muridke Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where doctors later said their condition was stable.
The SSP said a police team was formed on the directions of the district police officer to find and apprehend the suspect.
He said Ramazan was arrested after the police raided a house.
The SSP said during interrogation, the man confessed that he was in love with his sister-in-law Sakina and got angry when she rejected his advances. He told police that he had originally intended to only kill Sakina.
The SSP said he expressed regrets about killing his nieces and nephew.
