Educational ties: China to support Pakistan in petroleum engineering
Delegation of Chinese university visits UET.

Chinese universities will support their Pakistani counterparts in the field of petroleum engineering.
This was stated by a delegation from the Southwest Petroleum University of China during a visit to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Wednesday.
UET Vice Chancellor Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Akram Khan welcomed the Chinese delegation and gave them a tour of various department of the university, including the Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering and Department of Geological Engineering.
According to a press release issued by the UET, the objective of the visit was to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of petroleum.
The delegation has come to Pakistan to work on various ongoing joint ventures in the field of education.
The delegation appreciated the efforts of the UET VC regarding the academic performance of the university and its world ranking.
The delegation offered its support and cooperation to the university in the field of petroleum research.
Dr Waqar Mahmood, the Al Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science Director, briefed the delegation about the various research projects of the university.
Representatives of the Higher Education Commission were also present at the briefing.
