KARACHI:

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the acting Sindh IG, Karachi AIG and all DIGs of the Sindh Police to prepare a foolproof security plan for the Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA) on Ramazan 21 (Sunday).

Shah was in a meeting with Sindh IG Ghulam Hyder Jamali and AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo at CM House on Wednesday. The chief minister directed the officers to remain in contact with religious leaders and remove all bottlenecks and hindrances, if any.

“Make sure all the routes that the mourning processions will take are safe and secure,” he urged.

Apart from Rangers, 12,000 policemen will be deployed along the procession routes while special arrangements have been made in other parts of the province as well, Shah was told in the meeting.

The armed forces will also be available on standby.
