PCB sacks all over-60 employees
PCB terminates services employees aged over-60, clean-up also affects COO Wasim Bari.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has terminated the services of all employees aged over-60 with the clean-up also affecting its Chief Operating Officer (COO) Wasim Bari.
A PCB official said that the board’s HR committee informed around 15 PCB employees that their services were no longer required as they had become ineligible under the service rules act.
“The service rules states that employees who turn 60 have to be retired and unfortunately this list includes some very senior people,” the official said.
According to officials, the move took place after the PCB chairman opted to get rid of ‘unfavourable’ individuals from the set-up and reports are rife that Ijaz Butt’s close friend and former Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed, 75, will take over the COO on a PCB contract.
