Speed thrills, but kills: Four die, 20 others injured in reckless collision

The police have held both the vehicles but they have yet to lodge a case.

Four persons including a coach driver and a police constable were killed, while at least 20 others were injured when a recklessly driven truck collided head-on into a passenger coach at Indus Highway near Buxapur, Kashmore-Kandhkot district on Friday night.


The coach was on its way to Peshawar from Karachi. When it reached the area near Buxapur, a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction rammed into it. Resultantly, both the vehicles overturned, killing as many as four passengers and injuring more than 20.


Those killed in the accident are coach driver Karimullah, a resident of Peshawar, police constable Mohammad Ramzan Mamdani, a resident of Kashmore, and passengers Shahzeb and Mohammad Yasin. The injured include Amanullah, Sahib Jan, Meharban, Ghulam Sarwar, Wilayat Khan, Sadarudin, Faizullah, Raheel, Ghulam Jan, Shahadat, Jameel Ahmed, Wazirullah and others.


The injured were rushed to taluka hospitals in Kandhkot and Rahim Yar Khan.


The police have held both the vehicles but they have yet to lodge a case.
