Highway blocked: Sit-in against water, power shortages
Some two dozen protesters dispersed peacefully after local administration persuaded them to address the issue.
QUETTA:
The Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) held a sit-in against water and electricity shortages on the Western Bypass on Friday, suspending the flow of traffic on the highway. Traffic remained suspended for five hours on the highway. However, people used alternative roads to get to their destination. “Government should end the water shortage in Quetta city. Water supply to the Western Bypass has been suspended for the past couple of days. The demand of water is increasing while the government does not have any means to cope with the situation,” said Bostan Hazara. Some two dozen protesters dispersed peacefully after local administration persuaded them to address the issue.
