Political sparring: ‘What makes Khan think he can head towards Punjab’
People know the difference between real development and point scoring: Hamza Shahbaz.
LAHORE:
The intentions of those who want to join the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s long march are suspect, MNA Hamza Shahbaz said on Friday.
He was chief guest at a fundraiser held in connection with Shahbaz Sharif Volunteer Force for IDPs.
The country is going through trying times, and yet there are elements demanding re-election, he said. “What amazing progress has he brought Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that makes him think he can direct towards the Punjab?”
Dismissing Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri’s call for revolution, he said it was surprising how “people sipping coffee in Canada” suddenly seemed interested in bringing about a political revolution in Pakistan.
Speaking on development projects including the Karachi-Lahore Motorway and the Metro Bus project in Rawalpindi, he said the government wanted to improve economy by strengthening economic ties with China.
“The nation is aware of political stunts by certain elements...and knows the difference between political point scoring and real development.”
The fund raising event is the first in a series of similar events scheduled for the coming days.
A documentary featuring a special message by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also played at the event.
