Heat wave: 173 gastroenteritis reported

MULTAN:
Over 173 patients complaining of symptoms of gastroenteritis were admitted to public hospitals of the city on Friday. As many as 74 gastro cases were admitted to Nishtar Medical Institute and 79 patients were admitted to Children Complex.
As many as 12 patients were reported at Civil Hospital and eight at Fatima Jinnah Hospital for Women. Over 91 patients were discharged while no acute watery diarrhoea (AWD) case was reported today. On Wednesday, 191 patients complaining of symptoms of gastroenteritis were admitted to public hospitals. Gastroentitis is believed to result from heat.
